I had hoped to play bridge with Arlene one more time. When I first began playing with her group, mostly from Epping, she was so welcoming and kind. I was fairly new at the game and she helped me gain confidence in playing. She and I also enjoyed sharing political views and critiques of recent movies. She was a gem and I am so glad she died peacefully. She will be missed.

Your Mom was ahead of her time and very accomplished. We sure kept her alert during our teenage years. I remember watching the news with your parents. Vietnam, President Nixon, and Watergate were the headlines at that time. We would sit on the floor and both your parents would ask our thoughts. Always included at dinner time as a family. Dear Chris, I am so sad to hear this news. I always loved visiting your house when we were young where your mom was so warm and friendly and always made me feel welcomed. I was always impressed by her academic credentials and she was the first mom I knew with an advanced degree.
