1922-2017
Holocaust Survivor
As a Catholic teacher she saved dozens of Jewish children by changing their names and having the local priest issue baptism certificates in their new names. Eventually, the Nazis found out and she was ordered to a train bound for the concentration camps. Anne went into hiding waiting for her fiance, GI.Gerry Shea took a Jeep behind enemy lines, hid her in the Jeeps as he brought her into US occupied Germany.
Her daughter's strength to fight injustice came from her mom.
Anne's husband of 50 years, Gerry Shea, deceased. Anne has one child, Lisa A. Shea, one grandson, Dillon Collins, deceased. One great-granddaughter; and her nephew Gerhard Mack of Germany.
Her motto was Do What Is Right, Not What Is Easy.
