Ann Marie H. Wilson's Obituary
Ann Marie H. Wilson, lovingly known as “Butch,” passed peacefully on April 21, 2026, leaving behind a life beautifully defined by devotion to her family, her faith, and a quiet strength that carried through every chapter of her life.
Born on June 19, 1940, in Washington, D.C., Ann was the cherished daughter of Casper Douglas Bickerton and Hazel Alma Florence. From an early age, she carried a warmth and steadiness that would become the foundation of the life she built.
At the heart of Ann’s story was her enduring love for her husband, Robert William Wilson. Their journey began in 1957, growing into a lifelong partnership when they married on January 31, 1959. Together, they shared 67 years of marriage filled with love, resilience, and unwavering commitment - building not just a home, but a legacy grounded in faith and family.
Ann was a devoted mother to her daughter, Pamela Wilson Newton and her husband, Kevin, and her son, Bob “Steve” Wilson and his wife, Judy. She was a loving and proud grandmother to Christopher Newton and his wife, Kristina; Jonathan Newton; Rebecca Bunch and her husband, Dustin; Shane Wilson and his wife, Rachel; and Nicole Duvall and her husband, Travis. She also held a special place in her heart for her step-grandchildren, Corey McGuire and his wife, Alita, and Mattie Stokes and her husband, Brian.
Her love extended deeply to her great-grandchildren - Jessamyn, Anabella, and Charlotte Newton; Keegan and Colby Wilson; Nova and Luka Duvall - as well as her step-great-grandchildren Sutton, Scarlette, and Ross McGuire. Each child was a source of immense pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Ann dedicated many years of her professional life as a secretary, working with the Internal Revenue Service, Prince George’s Community College, and two local churches—Davidsonville United Methodist Church and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Mayo, Maryland.
Her work was marked by diligence, kindness, and a quiet dependability that made a lasting impact on those around her. She found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of life—time spent with family, sharing stories, and being present in the everyday moments that mattered most. Her home was a place of comfort, love, and steady care.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Ann lived her life guided by God’s word. Scripture was not only something she read, but something she lived—through her kindness, her patience, and her unwavering love for others. Her faith carried her through life’s joys and challenges alike, and it was a source of peace and strength until the very end.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Robert and resting in the presence of the Lord she trusted so faithfully.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” — Proverbs 31:25
Ann will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steadfast love, and the quiet, powerful way she cared for everyone around her. She was deeply loved, and her legacy will live on in every life she touched.
