Angel Rae Barnard-Rogers, 56, of Annapolis, Maryland, was born on March 17, 1960 in Queens, New York to Leo Barnard, Sr. and Bonnie Ray Sembly.
A Time to Learn
She received her education in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Angel furthered her knowledge by attending Fleet Business School.
A Time to Work
For 20 years, she was employed as a secretary with AT&T in Washington, DC.
A Time to Love
On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1997, Angel was united into holy matrimony to her soul-mate, Willis H. Rogers, Jr. They shared three wonderful years of marriage prior to his passing on August 7, 2000.
A Time to Enjoy
Angel enjoyed reading, writing poetry, singing, dancing, playing pool, playing cards, swimming, and cooking. She also loved spending quality time with her family and friends.
A Time to Mourn
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Leo Barnard, Jr.; and grandmother, Barbara Kent Smith Johnson. Angel peacefully made her transition from her earthly home to her eternal resting place on August 19, 2016.
Leaving a Legacy
Angel leaves loving memories to be cherished by her caring daughter, Shanike D. Barnard (Lem); two grandsons, Nigel D. Mills and Jordan D. Dowdy; one granddaughter, Destiny N. Mills; devoted mother, Bonnie Ray Sembly; father, Leo Barnard, Sr.; one sister, Andrea Barnard; three brothers, Edward “Kent” Barnard, Joseph “Joey” Sembly, and Dr. Marvin Barnard; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
