Andrina Jean Byrd's Obituary
Andrina Jean Byrd, age 88, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Byrd. Andrina was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family was the center of her life.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Susan) Byrd and Lisa (Mike) Snyder; her grandchildren, Amanda Byrd, Lexy (Bart) Williams, and Matthew Snyder; and her great-granddaughter, Amelia Williams. She is also survived by her brother, Lee (Naomi) Walker of Canada, along with many nieces and nephews.
Andrina was born in London, England, in 1937 to George and Elizabeth Walker. In 1940, shortly after the Blitz began, she moved with her parents to Scotland, where she spent a happy and formative childhood. In 1960, she immigrated to the United States, where she soon married and began building a life devoted to family, learning, and service.
A lifelong lover of books and history, Andrina found great joy in her work at various branches of the Anne Arundel County public library system, where she spent many years before retiring. She spent her retirement boating on the Chesapeake Bay, traveling and watching her grandchildren. Her curiosity, empathy, and quiet wisdom left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. A private celebration of Andrina’s life will be held for the family at a later date.
