Allison Berke McCall's Obituary
Allison Berke McCall passed away at her home in Deale, Md. on Feb. 12 at the age of 70. She
was surrounded by her beloved family. She lost her year long battle with cancer but retained
her sweet and selfless disposition up until the end.
Allison retired in 2022 after a 50-year long career in the federal government. Her last position
was the Chief Information Officer for the National Technical Information Service, part of the
Department of Commerce. Allison was a visionary, a leader, and a mentor. She was an early
champion of information technology, leading large teams in the law enforcement, defense,
and intelligence communities. Her areas of expertise included network
operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, technology integration, software development, data
science, systems engineering, and cloud operations.
Allison was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Leonard and Ruth Berke. She was raised in
Bethesda and remained in Maryland all her life. She graduated from the American University
with a BA in Business Administration and earned an MBA in Information Technology from
Ashford University.
Allison loved her role as a wife, mother, sister, friend, and especially, grandmother. She could
always be counted on for her sunny disposition. She was passionate about mentoring others. Her most joyful part of life was her family. She loved to go on nightly sunset cruises with her husband, planning family vacations, and spending quality time with her grandkids.
Allison is survived by her husband, Timothy Brian McCall. They marked their 39th anniversary
the day before she died, sealed with a kiss. She is also survived by her son, Kevin (Rachel), of Clinton, MD, her
daughter, Ariel Heath (Charles), of Dunkirk, MD, grandchildren, Rowan and Weston, sister,
Jennifer Berke, and brother, Richard Berke.
Services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023; 10 am at Lasting Tributes in Annapolis,
MD. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life following the burial from 12-4
at Dockside Restaurant (421 Deale Rd, Tracy’s Landing, MD 20779) to visit and comfort the
family.
