Alice J. McGowans' Obituary
Alice (Moma Jean) McGowans, 91 of Annapolis died peacefully November 17, 2011 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
She was born April 20, 1920 in Lothian, MD to the late Jennie J. Johnson.
She is survived by six children, Mary Moulden (Puddin), John McGowans (Brother-Carole), Randolph McGowans, Jeanette Whittington (Pat-Charles), Edna McGowans (Ed) and Norman McGowans (Doug-Mouse); one brother John Emory Lee (Lucinda); six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren, all of Annapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (John P.), her sisters Sallie Myers, Eleanor Hall, Marie Simms, Temperance Simms, Edna Pindell, her brother Randolph Lee, and devoted friend Mildred Larkins.
A visitation will be held 5 to 7PM on Monday, November 21, 2011 at Cecil United Methodist Church, 15 Parole Street, Annapolis, MD. The wake will be held at Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 10AM at the church, with the funeral service to begin at 11AM. Interment will follow the service at Bestgate Memorial Park, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD.
