Albert Bernard Watkins' Obituary
Albert Bernard Watkins (73) was born in Gambrills, Maryland to the late Richard and Mary Watkins. Albert departed this earthly life at home surrounded by family and friends on September 13, 2020.
Albert was educated in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. He began his employment at Pepsi in March 1964 through March 2002. While working for Pepsi Albert was drafted in US Army from 1966 to 1972 and was active member of the Army Reserve from January, 1967 to November 1972. He retired from Pepsi after 38 years of service.
Albert was united in holy matrimony on March 30, 1966 to the love of his life Alverta (Dean) Poole. God blessed them with a marriage lasting 54 years. They were blessed with two children Sandra ( Neicy) and Markell ( Thyrone).
To know Albert was to love Albert! He was always the life of the party, and kept everyone laughing. He especially loved his wife, daughter, son, daughter in-law, son-in-law, grandkids, great-grandkids, family and friends. His greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends. Albert was equally passionate about listening to the old gospel music. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, Sudoku, reading the Evening Capital, watching TV; some of his favorite shows were westerns, Jerry Springer and game shows. He was a former hard ball player and bowler with the Tuesday Men’s Commercial League. Albert was also a die hard Washington Red fan.
Albert was preceed in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Watkins, Sr., 3 brothers Richard, Clarence and William Watkins, 1 sister Mary Mason.
Albert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Alverta”Dean” Watkins, daughter Sandra “Neicy” Stephens (Antoine), son Markell “Thyrone”Watkins, Sr. (Cassandra); sisters Dora Ann Poole (Weldon), Alice Henriquez (Donald), Charlene Watkins, Emma Ireland (Steve), Mary Queen (Ira); 7 sisters-in-laws, 7 brothers-in-laws; 6 grandchildren Chris, Tamieka, Tamara, Maya, Malik and Markell, Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren D’Andre, Mahki, Makayla and Layla. A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. A goddaughter Rochana Hawkins. Special friends Eric “Ricky” Crowdy, Steve Ireland , Weldon Poole, Richard Poole and Isabello Rivera and host of other relatives and friends.
