Agnes Luvenia Simms' Obituary
Agnes L. Simms, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away on March 4, 2024 peacefully from a lengthy illness at Complete Care of Severna Park Nursing Home. She was born on July 29, 1944 to Gomalie Jones and Raphaella Hawkins. Agnes was educated in Annapolis schools, and graduated from Wiley H. Bates High School in 1963.
Agnes was a long time employee of Ginger Cove Retirement Community, and retired after more than 20 years of exemplary service. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, crafts, and horticultural activities. Agnes was well known for her interior decorating skills.
She is survived by her two sons, Reginald and DaWan Simms; sisters, Evelyn Johnson, Connie Hawkins, and Gail Jones; brothers, Gomalie Jones, Jr. and Charles Wade; grandchildren, Taylor Simms, Maya Simms, Nikolus Simms and Meihlani Simms; and a host of family and friends.
Agnes was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Joseph Wade and her sister, Varona White.
A graveside service will be held at Lasting Tributes Cremation & Funeral Care located at 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 on March 8, 2024 at 11:00am.
