Agnes Edna Murray's Obituary
Agnes Edna Jones Murray was born on February 10, 1947 in Annapolis, Maryland to the late Edgar K. and Mary J. Brown Jones.
Affectionately, known as Edna, she graduated from Wiley H. Bates High School in 1965 where she was a debutante. Agnes continued her education at Fleet Business School. She pursued and earned her Associates Degree from Anne Arundel Community College.
Agnes worked at Northrop Grumman, formerly Westinghouse, for 39 years, retiring as a Security Control Clerk in May 2011.
She was a dedicated servant of John Wesley-Waterbury United Methodist Church in Crownsville, Maryland and Marantha Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland.
Agnes loved life and showed it by leading the Girl Scouts (Troops 1975, 1980 and 2109) for over twenty years, being actively involved with the church and a mentor to children in the Robinwood community. She loved traveling, shopping, family gatherings, concerts, stage plays, retiree luncheons, Gunsmoke, Walker Texas Ranger, collecting teddy bears and Teddy Pendergrass.
Agnes peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, December 2, 2020 and leaves to cherish her memory: loving son, Victor Colbert Jr. (Colleen); loving daughters, Michelle Dickerson-Smith (Michael); Yolanda Murray-Kirby (Landers); beloved grandchildren, Nickhelle Colbert, Nakyra Colbert, William Saunders, Victor Colbert III, Bridget Colbert, Ashley Cully, Amber Medley, Amari Smith, and Lauren Kirby;14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Angela M. Hayes, Elaine Johnson (Earl) and Brenda Jones; one brother Pastor Theodore K. Jones (Sherry); 15 nieces and nephews; Uncle, James Oliver; Aunt, Leola Brown; Sister-In-Laws, Roxanne and Loretta Jones; God-Children, Tomiko Thomas and Charles “Bosty” Pritchett Jr.; Devoted friends, Dale Dickerson, Alice Gray, Cynthia Herndon, Theresa Turner and Curtis Coates.
She was preceded in death by her former spouse Henry M. Murray and brothers Edgar C., Elton J. and Reginald M. Jones; devoted Caregivers, Landers “Lammie” Kirby, Yvette Moore, Barbara Prather- Johnson and Rochelle Kennedy. She also leaves to remember her host of other relatives and friends.
