Kathleen was so nice and sweet. My son Eric was a Eagle Scout and she purchased a lot of popcorn and lots of mulch over the years. She was one of Eric’s top customers. I remember that my son passed out flyers in case some of his customers were not home when he stopped by. When she called to place an order she was always so friendly and always was very personal asking how Eric was doing if he was not home when she called. Eric was a top salesman for his troop in popcorn and mulch sales, with many new and repeat customers over the years. Kathleen was always patient and caring when she communicated with him. Whether he was knocking on the door or talking on the phone she was always so very very kind. In my mind I will always remember her as one of our favorite customers and the kindest of people.

Kathleen was a lovely lady in every way. She had the most incredible smile we've ever seen. She and my husband Jack used to talk about their physical woes (he had cancer) with a joke and so casually that it seemed they both thought these things were mere inconveniences. It was family that was most important of all. The rest you can just deal with as you had to. We loved going over to her place and George's for dinner which usually included another guest or two. Sometimes we had to drive from our house, two doors away, to pick up the elderly neighbor, Betty, across the street, who couldn't make it up her hill and then back again. We had lovely and lively discussions about everything with good food as a plus.
One day she called us in a panic when she had fallen out of her car going home. We rushed over to find her halfway out of her car on the driveway. She had a broken collarbone and yet she was able to direct us to move her out of the car, get the car out of the driveway, call 911 herself and give them her medical diagnosis. She was in lots of pain as the medics had to move her to get her on a gurney but she still was giving them orders. She was strong in so many ways. I'll always remember how she cared so much for people. She, like my Jack, will be terribly missed. But they will have lively discussions into the night on the other side, to be sure.
