Bill was a dear friend back in our Concordia-Milwaukee days. We graduated there in 1975. He loved to sing then, too. He had a sweet, clear voice, was always kind, had the cutest fun laugh and loved the Lord. Rest in peace, old friend, and I will see you in the other side for sure.
To Bill’s beloved family, I send my sincerest condolences. He is gone too soon and I am sorry for your loss.
Upon meeting Bill, just a short 25 years ago, I thought his was the epitome of the West Coast man and family. Such an obviously loving and loved man. Verlin and I were lucky to be able to be included in his family, even though briefly.
I am so sorry Verlinda. It was too soon.
Brandon, Ashton and Monica - he was way too young, but I am so glad you ALL have such vivid memories of him and your family to share with each other and your extended families.

To this day, I still sing the closing benediction by Pastor Heffel..... May the Lord bless you..... I loved we he sang and it and the congregation sang back to him. He was very talented. I will always be thankful to him for his introduction of Robin Marks to my musical repertoire and for bringing Robin Marks to Trinity. Those songs can't be heard without thinking of him. With deepest sympathy to you. May your way be peace.....

Whenever I listen to Robin Mark songs, I hear Verlinda and Bill's voices. Your love for each other and the Lord always shone through. May God comfort you Verlinda and your family. We all cherish our memories of Bill and rejoice that he served our risen Savior.
Sang with Bill at Concordia Milwaukee. I remember him with great fondness. He was full of fun and had a great *chuckle*. Beyond that, he was a great witness to his faith, even as a young man. May God send His comfort and peace to Bill's wife and family.

Over the 36 years that I have known Bill, time spent together has been few and far between due to ever-changing career moves for both of our families. When we were together it was always like the years since our last visit melted away.
Verlinda and I have been friends since high school. When she met Bill I heard a change in her voice, I sensed a change in her heart. That change was Bill. He brought her so much happiness, so much love. This man, Bill, brought her joy and laughter and a never-ending love. It is a love that never wavered through school, raising children, multiple moves to unknown destinations, through sickness and health.
After years of battling health issues, Bill is whole and healthy once again. The trade off for that transition is that we can no longer see him here with us, physically. We do still have all of our wonderful memories of Bill and memories with Bill. In addition to our memories, we must all look for him in different ways. He is still here with us…we can see him in the faces of his children and grandchildren. When we hear beautiful music, we will have Bill with us. When we hear laughter and see the bond of friends and family, we will see Bill.
To honor Bill let us all emulate his gifts of goodness, life, laughter and the greatest gift of all, love.
I always looked forward to listening to Pastor Heffel sing "Ancient Words" during Sunday morning worship. It was an honor to play guitar or piano for him and listen to his heart-song for God.

Bill and I were in Chamber Singers together at Concordia-Milwaukee from 1973-1975. This was a tight knit group, and we all became close friends. Besides his beautiful voice, Bill provided lots of shenanigans and laughter for all of us. He was a wonderful friend and a great Christian example for everyone around him. He will be truly missed, but we know he is in the arms of the Savior he loved.
Remember his as a kind intelligent and witty individual as we celebrated Full Sail graduations.
