December 27, 1926 - December 3, 2018
After a long period of failing health, Thomas Joseph Brady passed away peacefully at home in Annapolis on Monday, December 3, 2018. Tom and his family were able to visit and enjoy his final month of life with the loving help of the caregivers from Hospice of the Chesapeake. Tom, 91, was a first-generation American of Irish immigrant parents, Philip and Lena Brady, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the middle child of three. After high school, he served in World War II in the Philippines (Leyte), earned a bachelor’s degree and moved to Maryland to work for the federal government. Tom, Nada, and their seven children lived in University Park where he was a long-time member of the St. Mark’s parish. For thirty years, they shared their home with extended family, friends, foster children, and foreign-exchange students. There are grown children in many countries mourning the loss of Tom, the man they called Dad. He is survived by his dear wife of 52 years, Nada, their children: Philip (Eileen) Brady of Georgetown, Delaware, Kathie Boyle of Seaford, Delaware, Kirk (Laura) Brady of Bowie, Bonnie (Craig) Lamison of Brunswick, Kelly (Chris) Schwartz of Cheltenham, Erin (David) Luzuriaga of Guayaquil, Ecuador, and Shannon Brady of Boca Raton, Florida; thirteen grandchildren: Eddie, Eric, Skylene, Grace, James, David, Katelyn, Shane, Sean, Heather, Ulysses, Eva, and Bruno; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, John and Theresa Brady, both of Philadelphia. Tom will be remembered by all as a witty, fun-loving family man who enjoyed taking walks, going to the beach, doing crossword puzzles, playing golf, bowling, and most of all, traveling, near and far. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 13, 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Road in Annapolis. Funeral Mass will be held at 9am on Friday, December 14, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Road, followed by a brief, indoor Committal Service at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1080 Sunrise Beach Road. If you would like to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests The Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607-1460.
