Terrance Joseph Ring Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Terrance Joseph Ring, (Terry), age 67, died of heart failure on July 25, 2022, at his home in Annapolis, Maryland. Terry is survived by his son, Brendan (Maggie), his daughter, Alexis (Jaron), his grandson, Deacon, his ex-wife Eva, his older sister Frances (Jim), his younger brother Vincent (Sharon), and 9 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Anne Ring, and by his older brother, James. Terry was born on January 20, 1955 in Queens, New York. He graduated from Seaford High School on Long Island, with athletic awards as a tri-sport athlete in basketball, football, and baseball, earning a scholarship to University of Maryland which was cut short by injuries. Terry majored in Criminology and held several positions in the Maryland Correctional System before working for a few years for US Power Company and then with his brother Jim for Amada Ltd. Company, sales jobs which involved extensive travel and a lot of relationship building. Terry was very patriotic and was proud to hold several sensitive positions in the Defense Department, before retiring from his federal career in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. As a financial analyst in the Administration for Children and Families, he worked hard to ensure families and children in the U.S. received the financial support to which they were entitled. Terry was a faithful man, and, according to him, single handedly prayed several family members through health scares. Terry was a loving father who was always invested in what was going on in his children’s lives and wanted to be involved. He was so proud to be at both of his children’s weddings in the past year. Terry was also always asking about how family members (especially his nieces and nephews) and friends were doing, and he had an amazing knack for remembering so many anecdotal stories about aunts, uncles, and cousins, stories which demonstrated how much he had valued and treasured his relationships and interactions with them. Terry was also a loyal friend. He had a core of friends from his school days with whom he was still close at his death, and for whom he would give the shirt off his back. He was known by many for his sense of humor and kind nature towards everyone, including strangers. Terry was generous and giving. He loved watching and talking sports with family and friends, and hated missing even one Yankees game. He was a good predictor of which athletes would excel in their fields. Terry loved the ocean, and was a fierce board and body surfer in his more active days. Forever be his memory.. he will be missed by so many. His absence will be noticeable and difficult, but the memories he made with his loved ones live on in each of us. A Memorial Mass for Terry will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10:30 am. Family will be in the narthex area of the church half hour before the service. Location: St John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401.
