Sue Ellen Zippel, 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2021 where she was reunited with her parents, William and Marjorie Kelch. She was born on September 4, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois. Sue graduated from the University of Maryland, summa cum laude, in 1975, and completed graduate work at Georgetown University. She worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for more than 20 years, as a Software Engineer and Systems Analyst. One of Sue’s greatest passions was her business, Country Corner Antiques, that she shared with her husband. They loved traveling, and were especially fond of England. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Kenneth Zippel, her two daughters, Lorna Cutter (Chad) and Erica Johnson (Brian), six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. At Sue’s request, there will be no viewing or service. Expressions of sympathy may be made in whichever way(s) you wish.
