Santa Louise Parham

Santa (Sandy) Louise Parham of Edgewater, MD passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by those she loved on February 5, 2020. Santa was born July 18, 1943 in Washington, DC to Elise and John Parham. She was raised in Lanham, MD, moved to Oakhill, WV to raise her family, and retired in Edgewater, MD. Preceded in death by her sons, Earl Lee DeQuasie Jr, David Glenn DeQuasie, Charles Curtis DeQuasie, and her sisters, Jeanne Steen, Betty Borregard, Earline Crouch, Evelyn Menage and Margaret Walker. Survived by her son, Timothy Paul DeQuasie, a loving daughter in law, Faye DeQuasie, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, sister Patsy Lewis, and a host of nephews and nieces. She leaves behind her many neighbors and friends at senior living community, Victoria Park. Santa enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and cooking for her loved ones. She took great pleasure in the outdoors and spent many family vacations boating and camping in Summersville, WV and Woodland Beach, MD. She held a special place in her heart for all animals, including her many backyard critters, birds, and squirrels that she fed daily. Her most beloved animal of all was Ms. Kitty, who has been with her for more than 13 years. Santa kept her sense of humor and tremendous faith throughout her three year-long battle with stage four cancer, until the very end. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
