Paul Francis Duffy, II, (lovingly known as “Duffy”) of Annapolis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the tender age of 32 at UMMC MICU surrounded by his loving partner, family, and friends. Paul was born in Annapolis on November 23, 1988 to Paul Connolly and Julianna (von Schwerdtner) Duffy in Annapolis, MD. He was the youngest of three. Paul was a devoted partner and father and strived to provide for his family. He was an avid reader, writer, and musician. He had a passion for playing the Djimbe and meeting people from all walks of life. Paul worked as a Peer Support Specialist for Anne Arundel County Health Dept. and had a passion for helping others. He has touched the lives of many young men and was well respected by his peers and colleagues. Paul was very focused on physical and dietary health. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and mountain biking. Paul is survived by his loving partner, Gwennevere Dudley and their much loved 2 yr. old son, Luca Sean Michael Duffy of Annapolis, his parents Paul Connolly and Julianna von Schwerdtner, his siblings: Bridgid (Duffy) Gee and Sean Patrick Duffy, his step-grandmother, Pat Guyton, his uncles: Jon, Eric, and Thomas von Schwerdtner, Patrick, Peter, and John Duffy, his aunts: Sally (Duffy) Warren and Anna von Schwerdtner, his partner’s brother, Michael Dudley, and his many cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Friedrich and Muriel von Schwerdtner, and Captain Paul Francis Duffy and Celestine Duffy, and his aunts Maureen (Duffy) Abraham and Christina von Schwerdtner. Family and friends are grateful for the care and comfort provided by the team of professionals in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and the Chaplains of the University of Maryland Medical Center. Their care resulted in him successfully donating his heart, liver, kidneys, and pancreas to 4 individuals in need. Family and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life potluck on Saturday, May 8 from 10am – 7pm at the Flounder Shelter located in Sandy Point State Park as well as a Green Burial Service on Sunday, May 9 at 10am in Bestgate Memorial Park, 814 Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401.
