Nancy Lee Wimbish

Nancy L. Wimbish, 86, passed away on February 17, 2022, after a three-month illness. Nancy was born on August 6,1935 in Angola Indiana to Donald and Janette Orewiler. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marion Munn and brother K-Don Orewiler. After graduating from Angola High School in 1954 she met her late husband Philip C. Wimbish, who was attending Tri-State College in Angola. After marrying they moved to Baltimore, moving frequently until settling on Kent Island in 1969. Nancy moved to Annapolis in 1976. Known as an extremely hard worker and excellent waitress she began working at 13 at the local 5 & 10-cents store. In Annapolis she worked at Whitehall Inn from 1970 until its closing. She then worked in food services at Northrup-Grumman until her retirement in 2003. Nancy spent her retirement years working crosswords, painting, and doing arts and crafts. She loved creating and sharing her holiday displays throughout the year. She will be remembered for her loving, friendly, gentle demeanor, her infectious laugh and love of dancing to “Old-time Rock and Roll.” She is survived by her two sons and their wives Philip J. And Sharon Wimbish , Paul and Kristan Wimbish of Annapolis. She was known as “Granny” to her three grandchildren, Philip Wimbish Jr, Kelsey and Travis Horney and Kyle Wimbish. She also had three great-grandchildren, Gage, Tristan and Huxley Horney all of whom she loved dearly. A private life celebration will be held to honor her memory.
