Mary Louise Johnson, age 75 affectionately known as MaryLou, Mumma, Gramma and Mary Love unexpectedly transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Mary Lou was born in Baltimore Maryland to the "late" George Love and Florence Elizabeth Carroll. Mary Lou received her early education from Anne Arundel Public Schools. She attended Wiley H. Bates High School and she was a part of the class of 1964. MaryLou was employed as a custodian at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis for several years. She later gained employment with the Anne Arundel County Board of Education, where she worked in food services serving meals to elementary school children. She also worked as a custodian for Edgewater elementary school, The Maryland Hall of Fine Arts and The Annapolis Junior High school before she retired in 2010. MaryLou consecutively worked as a private house keeper for the Kidwell family for over 35 years, she was a dedicated and meticulous worker. MaryLou was a active member of Cecil Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s (UMW) ministries. MaryLou joined UMW in 2012 to support their mission to improve the lives of women and children around the world and to advocate peace, justice, economic inequality, education and human rights. MaryLou enjoyed playing bingo, pokeno, card games, left, right & center, slots, and lotteries. She also enjoyed clothes shopping, she was very particular about what she wore. MaryLou would dress up for every occasion, earrings was a must. She took pride in her appearance or as she would say “looking sharp”. MaryLou enjoyed cooking, her signature dish was potato salad. She had an eye for stylish and unique home furnishings, MaryLou loved decorating her home and she often changed the decor according to the season. MaryLou loved to dance, socialize and to spend quality time with her children and grandchildren. She hosted countless gatherings over the years to ensure they remained close. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was also preceded in death by her sister; Thelma Holland, brother; Joseph “Reece” Love, son in law; David Butler, and her niece; Cassandra Beans whom she was extremely close with. MaryLou leaves behind to cherish unforgettable moments and beautiful memories to her three daughters; Charlyce M Butler (David), Jacqueline Watkins (Juan), LaShon L Little (Thomas), Grandchildren; Ronnie Johnson Jr, Ryan Johnson, Adrian Allen (Donald), Lanika DeShields, Ashley Trusty, Brittney Butler, Kennedy Trusty, Jordan Watkins and Juan Watkins Jr., the father of her children & former husband; Jack Johnson, Nephew (who was more like a brother to her); Carroll Grandy (Kim), Great-Grandchildren; Skyla Thompson, Ashton McGhee, Colby Allen, Braylen Cherry, Micah Johnson, Zion Johnson, Sa’riyah Allen and Israel Johnson, Bonus Grandchildren; Shanea Butler, Shardae Watkins, Kiara Watkins, LaKerera Little and Dana Little, Sisters-in-law; Joanne Parker and Louise Johnson, Brothers-in-law; Phillip Johnson and James Johnson, and a host of cousins, extended family and friends. She will also be sorely missed by her great niece Angela Beans-Edmond, their church family and her closest friends; Veralene Burks, Margo Ross, Alva Handy, Imogene Sellman, and Christine Bugg.
