October 8, 1951 - February 21, 2022
Marcia Jeanne Avrunin, of Annapolis, MD, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday, February 21, 2022. She was 70 years young. Marcia was born in Macon, GA and was a true Southerner at heart. Marcia was very seldomly without her pearls and, more importantly, without her smile! Marcia graduated from The Samuel Ready School in Baltimore, MD in 1970. Marcia loved her families, the Glovers and the Gramatikos, and loved her friends. Marcia excelled in trivia and had a nightly date with Jeopardy and Stephanie, Marcia loved cooking, reading, and to her sister's dismay, listening to Country music. Marcia loved VW Bugs, had many, and to make the State of Maryland safe, sold her last Bug many years ago. Marcia was a lot of great things, driving was not one of them! Marcia truly believed in laughter and smiles and could not be bothered with stop lights and curbs. Marcia retired from Roto-Rooter after many years, with many distinguished service awards and truly loved working there. Marcia was a lady of great kindness, intelligence and warmth and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The world is a little dimmer without her beautiful smile. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Sol and Blossom Avrunin and her brother-in-law, Johnny Gramatikos. Marcia is survived by her life partner, Stephanie Glover of Blue Hill, ME and stepdaughter and family, Sherene and David Cauley and grandchildren, Emiliee, Lyra, Hazel and Lian, of Blue Hill, ME. Marcia is also survived by in-laws, Cheri Glover of Columbia, MD, Suzanne and Storm Fiegles of Naples, FL, Phil Glover and Earl Glover of Columbia, MD. In addition to the Glover family, Marcia is survived by her sister, Ava Avrunin Gramatikos of Annapolis, MD, niece, Aleena Gramatikos and partner Hans Heidle of Falls Church, VA, nephew, Steve Gramatikos of Pasadena, MD; Godchildren Dr. Laurie Connor of New Hope, PA and Alex Connor Ressler of Seattle, WA.
