Juanita "Peg" Sala

Juanita "Peg" Frances Sala passed away on July 28, 2021. She was born on February 12, 1930 in Crisfield, MD to the late Roy E. Riggin and Frances J. Matthews Riggin. She graduated in 1948 from Southern High School in Baltimore, MD. On October 23, 1948 she married James C. Sala of Baltimore and resided in Brooklyn, MD. In 1954 she and her family moved to Linthicum, then in 1982 to Chester, MD. Her residence at her passing was Milford, DE. Peggy began working at Westinghouse in 1966, and later for Baltimore Oxygen Supply Company as bookkeeper/credit manager. In 1985 she retired and began volunteering for Hospice of Queen Anne's, Inc. She became a charter member of Estate Treasures (a hospice consignment shop), and later became the store's manager in 1995. Because of her service and dedication, Peggy was recognized as Queen Anne's County Most Beautiful People, by the state of Maryland in 2005. In addition to volunteering for Hospice of Queen Anne's, Inc., she was an active member of the Bay Country Moose Lodge #831, the Kent Island Yacht Club, and Sr. Vice President of the VFW Post #7464 ladies auxiliary (Grasonville). She enjoyed gardening, fishing, the outdoors and in particular being with her family. Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, James C. Sala, her son, Carl A. Sala and his wife Linda of Orlando, FL, a granddaughter, Hailey Collins; and a grandson, Jared L. Sala, Pasadena , MD. She is survived by her sons, Michael J. Sala and his wife Susan of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Timothy L. Sala and his wife Bonnie of Annapolis, MD, and Jeffrey P. Sala of Antioch, CA, in addition to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
