Jennifer Jill Seerey
June 1, 1967 - September 21, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer Jill Seerey on Tuesday, September 21st. Jen, 54, passed away surrounded by her loving family in her Severna Park home. Born in Wall Township, New Jersey to George Michael Haber and Jill Ellen Haber (Miller) on June 1st, 1967, she grew up in a loving and active home engaging in countless adventures with her four siblings. Spending her early years in a beach town, ignited Jen’s lifelong desire to always be near the water. She graduated from the University of Mary Washington allowing her to pursue her passion for teaching. Her first teaching job was at The Ridge school in Rockville, Maryland, teaching math and science. Once her children began school, she taught math and religion for many years at Monsignor Slade Catholic School in Glen Burnie. For the past three years, Jen was a Special Education Teacher at George Cromwell Elementary School in Glen Burnie. While teaching, Jen was also pursuing her Master’s in Special Education at Notre Dame of Maryland University. Jen’s biggest joys in life were her husband Sean and their two daughters, Meghan and Maggie. A devoted mother, Jen never missed her daughters’ sporting events, musicals, or concerts. Boating year round and celebrating on the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay with friends and family was Jen’s favorite way to spend a weekend or cool fall evening. One of Jen’s most exciting boating adventures was serving as First Mate with Sean on a crossing from Chester, Nova Scotia to Portland, Maine – It was a nail-biting, exciting experience! Traveling, attending live concerts, going to plays in New York City, hiking with her daughters, spending time on the beach, and reading were some of Jen’s favorite pastimes. Jen loved spending time at the Eastport Yacht Club and participated in many of the annual Lights Parades often dressed as Mrs. Claus in a towed Zodiac sleigh. Jen is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Sean Seerey, of Severna Park; her daughters Meghan and Maggie; her parents, George and Jill Haber of Stafford, VA; her siblings Veronica Allison and her husband Jonathan; George and his wife Sherri; Jeffrey and his wife Kathy; and Michael; her mother-in-law Helen Seerey; her brother-in-law Jim and sister-in-law Ruth Seerey; her sister-in-law Molly Seerey; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Jen will be remembered for her compassionate nature, sense of humor, adventurous spirit, curiosity, and eagerness to help and serve others. Anyone in need knew they could turn to Jen. Visitation will be held on Friday October 1 at Lasting Tributes, 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis MD 21401 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis MD 21401 at 9 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jen’s honor to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org).
