Jacob Manoogian
September 24, 1924 - April 11, 2021
June Manoogian 98 passed away of natural causes on March 20, 2021. Her loving husband Jacob Manoogian 96 followed her on April 11, 2021. He couldn’t wait another day to be with his true love. Jacob met June during World War ll in Washington DC. He invited her on a date but she said no! He persisted because he knew she was “the one”. Finally, she said yes and after the war was over, they married. Last year they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. They were a wonderful couple that created a beautiful, full life. June retired from the Smithsonian Institute and Jacob retired from The Daily Newspaper. Traveling was their passion, visiting all 50 states and every national park. Friends were a very important part of their lives. Together they enjoyed social gatherings, conventions and casino fun. June also loved her Red Hat Society family. Jacob loved gardening and model trains. June and Jacob were loving and supportive of their only son Jonathan, and remained close to his ex-wife Sandy Fontaine. They were delighted to welcome grandchildren Jennifer and Jacob to their world but nothing gave them more joy than spending time with their beautiful great-grandchildren Reagan Manoogian, Emma Tang, Jacob M. Manoogian Jr. and Owen Tang. Jacob was pre deceased by his brother Paul Manoogian and survived by his sister in law Sosie Manoogian. June was pre deceased by her sister Regina Carter.
