Gregory “Greg” D’Arco of Annapolis, MD, formerly of Brookville, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 1st, 2019. Greg is preceded in death by his father Charles D’Arco. He is survived by his wife Dana D’Arco of Annapolis, MD, son Charles Joseph “CJ” D’Arco of DC, son Gregory D’Arco of Philadelphia, PA, daughter Jamie Christine D’Arco of Silver Spring, MD, daughter Kelly Ann D’Arco of Bethesda, MD, stepson Leonardo “Lenny” Lapidario of Nashville, TN, stepdaughter Caraline “Cara” Lapidario of Olney, MD, and mother Mary Jane D’Arco of The Villages, Florida. Greg was born on July 23, 1960 in the Bronx, New York to Charles and Mary Jane D’Arco. Greg was raised in Crofton, MD and attended Wroxeter High School graduating in 1978. Greg excelled on both the football and lacrosse fields while at Wroxeter. Known to be a hard-hitting linebacker on the football field, as well as a tough midfielder on the lacrosse team, Greg played on several championship teams at Wroxeter in the late seventies. Greg then fulfilled a lifelong dream and attended the University of Southern California graduating with a degree in International Business. Upon graduation, Greg began a long successful career in banking and financial consulting, working for American Bank, Lehman Brothers and most recently KPMG. Greg and his loving wife Dana resided in Brookville, MD with their Yellow English Lab, Obi, until they recently moved to Annapolis, as he wanted to come back “home.” Greg had four children: CJ, Greg, and twins Jamie and Kelly—and two step-children, Lenny and Cara. Greg had a gift for great friendships and had strong bonds with people from elementary school and beyond. Greg loved to spend time with high school buddies drinking at McGarvey’s because, “you know you can drink Guinness all day long.” Greg was passionate about the USC Trojans and the strong friendships he maintained with his Trojan family. He relished the times spent traveling across the world and the annual trek to a USC football game. Greg enjoyed both the DC and Annapolis lifestyles. He loved being on the water to boat and jet ski. Greg adored traveling with his wife Dana and lounging on the beach. Many weekends were spent roaming through museums in the District, meeting up with friends and sharing a bottle of wine. Greg was an adventurous chef who loved hosting dinner parties at his home. A final “Saturday-After-Thanksgiving” event will be held at McGarvey’s on November 30, 2019 from 12 to 2pm to celebrate the life, the laughter, and the love of our boy, Greg D’Arco. If you can’t turn it off, turn it up!
