Donald Michael Dailey was born May 25, 1938 in Queens New York. He was raised in Brooklyn, New York by his parents, the late Edmund Dailey and Mary Dailey (Walsh). He was the youngest boy of eight siblings. The late Edmund Dailey Jr., Francis (Frank) Dailey, John (Jackie) Dailey, Eugene Dailey, Joan Kuehn, Eileen Balzani, and one sister who passed before his birth. He was a faithful husband to Catherine Dailey whom he married on March 29, 1980, loving father to daughter Eleanor Anderson and son-in-law Nelson Anderson Jr., and adoring grandfather to Madison, Sydney and Isaac. He studied business at St. John’s University in Queens New York and graduated June 1961 with a bachelors degree in business administration. Meanwhile he started in the mail room at Republic Insurance Company on Wall Street in New York City. He worked his way up in the company as a loyal employee and in 1975 was transferred to Columbia Maryland to manage a satellite office for the company. In 1981 he retired from Republic and purchased a printing company and ran a successful business for many years. In 1996 he worked on and received his master’s degree in Ministry. Donald loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, friends, baseball, his church and church family. He was a selfless, loving human being he will be missed by all who knew him. After his grandson Isaac had cancer in 2014 he made regular donations to St. Jude.
