Clayton Darnell Thomas
February 23, 1956 - January 20, 2022
A Time to be Born: Clayton Darnell Thomas was born on February 23, 1956 to the late James Edward Thomas and Betty S. Colbert in Washington, D.C. A Time to Learn: Clayton (Tom) was fondly called "Cold Bear". He attended Anne Arundel county public schools. A Time to Serve: He was an Army Veteran but he admitted he was not cut out to be a “G.I. Joe”. A Time to Plant :He was a commercial fisherman. He loved his job and loved to tell stories of his time working on the Chesapeake Bay. Clayton was a great cook and he ate seafood all year round. Clayton loved being a “Bulldog” but deep down he was a “Softie”. Clayton loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. His man cave wall is covered with Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia. Clayton was married to Chris and was a great husband. He was a stepdad to Christen (Tonya), Charles (Marcella) and Christopher (deceased). He was “Pops Clayton” to his grandchildren, Kayla, Tamia, and Shiloh. A Time to Cherish: On January 20, 2022 Clayton agreed with the Creator that it was time to get up out of here. He did so peacefully. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Thomas and Betty S. Colbert, brothers Gregory Boston (deceased), Augustus McGowan (Sarah) sisters, Constance Forrester (Richard), Theressa Thomas, Terry Watkins (Louis), Marsha Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. It was painful to let him go, but we know that God had a better plan for him.
