I knew Bets for a couple of years whilst I was living in Virgina Beach back in the 90s. No matter what life threw at her, she didn't seem to have a mean bone in her body. She came and stayed at my house a couple of times and my dogs adored her. My GSD in particular used to guard her when she was asleep at night. Through thick and thin, the had a naturally upbeat, positive character. I've often thought of her over the last 20 years. I'm so sad to hear of her passing. What an elegant, beautiful, talented and kind-hearted woman we've lost, valiant in the face of the battles she had to fight.

It was with great sadness to read of Bets' passing in the Annapolis newspaper recently... I was unaware of her long struggle, which is a testament to her brave and humble spirit. She was a lovely, kind and gentle person who had a keen eye for beauty and a real appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in creating beautiful things. I never knew her artistic talents and would have loved to have seen her cards.... It was a true pleasure to have known her. May she rest in peace and continue to feel the love of her family and friends.

Bets was a favorite cousin. A very creative person who outshone all the rest of us at family get-togethers where a craft project was involved, and there were a great many of those during our times. Those are the kind of good memories everyone should be lucky enough to have. Always smiling, our Betsy! We miss you. Love, Janie and Jerry Wettstone
