Audrey Louise Batchelor

Audrey Louise Batchelor passed away on April 21, 2022, in Annapolis, Maryland at the age of 85. Audrey was born on July 9, 1936, in the District of Columbia to Helen and Hugh Frain. After attending the Washington School for Secretaries, she started her first job with the Army Security Agency as a GS-05 Secretary, kick-starting a career serving the country she loved. Audrey retired from the Department of Defense in 1997 after 40 years of service. She was happily married to her best friend, William Batchelor, for 39 years. Audrey was a beloved wife, cousin, 'Aunt' to so many, and friend who loved to play bingo at the local Moose Lodge, read, play cards, and spend time crafting. Some of her most cherished memories and friends were made boating along the East Coast with friends and family. Audrey lived in Heritage Harbour in Annapolis for 25 years and treasured the friendships made in that community. Audrey was preceded in death by her father, Hugh, her mother, Helen, and her husband, William. She is survived by her cousin, Carl Kilhoffer, second cousins Kathleen Blizzard and Dawson Kilhoffer, and numerous friends who she considered family. No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Those wishing to honor her life are invited to make a donation to The ALS Association.
