Even though Carol and I went to school together I met her Mother when I was in Job’s Daughters and she was guardian. Forty plus years later she joined our Md football tailgate many times. I met Virginia around 1990 when her daughter Tricia lived in Foster City, CA. I so immediately admired her because of her bold presence in a room, her sense of humor, her amazing stature, style, and her undying community involvement. She was and remains a role model for me for where I am in my life now and how I'd like to be in the latter half of my life. God bless you Virginia. You had a positive touch on so many lives. I know Virginia through her daughter Brenda. We have been next door neighbors for many years so I remember when Virginia would get in her car and drive up Route 50 like nobody’s business and come for a visit. She still drove around town up until just a few years ago. She lived alone up until less than a year ago. A fiercely independent and self sufficient woman of many talents. She and I were Christmas nuts and I am thrilled to have a couple of her ornaments to hang on my tree now. She was a firecracker. I will miss her. Kathy Becker
Before meeting Virginia, in Annapolis in August 2008, Alex (my beloved brother) used to describe her as a very good and special woman, talented, indipendent as well as full of other incredible qualities. When my mother and J met her for first time, at her house, it was as if we had known her forever. She welcomed us with elegance, spontaneity and warmth. So many memories to share. My best memories were the summers I spent in Edgewater with my 3 cousins. You are all so lucky to have had her around so long and in such good health!
