Richard, (Dick) Robert Stanton passed away on May 20th, 2022 at the age of 96. He was born in Belvedere, IL on August 13th, 1925 and spent his childhood on smalll farm near Rockford, IL. Shortly after high school he went to serve Read Obituary
I am a student doing a project for my history class where we are required to look at high school yearbooks from the 40's during WWll, to see what it was like for students during that time. While searching through the West High School yearbook, I came across Mary. Continuing to search through the year book, I saw a note that she had left. That note reads "Richard Robert Stanton class of 1943 - drafted - met him again after the war - married 1951" As well as another note, "still married-! 2013 - 62 years!" Being someone who never knew either of them, I find their love inspiring. I feel that this is one of the best parts of doing my project. I send my condolences to the family of Mr. & Mrs. Stanton, and wish them the best. I'm sure both Richard and Mary were both lovely people, but even better parents and grandparents.

I had the pleasure of caring for Dick and Ginger once. I have never seen two people more inlove. The way he told their life story reminded me of one of those 1940's movies. It was amazing!
Dick was funny. I asked him if he wanted me to call him Richard. He said only if you want to die😂
He said only my enemies call me Richard.
His sense of humor and the love he and Ginger had will truly be missed.

Sue, Your Mom and Dad were an awesome couple. I remember several Christmas parties both in Camp Springs and then in Annapolis. They were fun and wonderful. You are so very lucky to have had them in your life and your girls lives for as long as you did. Love, Lucy
