I have worked at St. Paul Church in Negaunee for 28 years and vividly remember your Mom and Dad coming in the summers! What an elegant lady your Mom was and always so friendly and kind! Heaven has another angel to watch over all of you and your families! On behalf of St. Paul Parish -- I wish you all well. Be consoled in the fact that her life has changed, not ended.
It is such a bittersweet time when we see our last parent enter into eternal life. It brings us to this new plateau of life when it is just the memories that we have to enjoy. This whole family has been given so many happy memories by your parents. Aunt Luce was always the example of elegance through her life and shared her love with all of us. We loved her dearly and will deeply miss her. My deepest sympathy to you both and to your entire family.

What can be added to the beautiful tributes already made for a most beautiful and elegant lady. Not only was she my godmother but she was always the model of a person I wanted to emulate....her elegance, her kindness, her caring, her inner and outer beauty and her deep and abiding faith. The memories are many and those will always be cherished. As stated by others she is now resting peacefully with her family, many friends and certainly with our Lord.
Our love and prayers are with you Christopher, GianCarlo and family and may the memories of a most wonderful mom help you through this most difficult time.

I'll never forget the times I spent with Uncle John and Aunt Luce at their home in Bethesda, the trips to Italy and visiting them at Sibley. In a sense they were surrogate parents and adopted me into the Torreano/Ghiardi family. We talked about family, travel, food and friends. No topic was out of play! Their worldliness and accomplishments in life were always down played. Aunt Luce would wave it off as nothing.
Auntie Luce put up a valiant fight and we all hoped for a reversal. She is now with her many loved ones and I am sure she is smiling down on us with the admonishment to be happy.

We will always remember you for your elegance, smile, kindness, and always having time to talk to anyone. The great stories and slide shows you and uncle John would bring back from your adventures overseas were always something we anxiously looked forward too. Those times brought to us a world we only read about. The times at camp, the family gatherings, the great food were always a bright spot in the UP summer. I am sure you are rejoicing in the arms of the Lord who you always kept first in your life. You are also having the greatest family reunion with Uncle John, your parents, siblings and all your friends who went before you and were waiting for you.
We will miss you and always remember you.
