I didn’t get to know him, he didn’t get to know me. I’m not sure why exactly. But I’m glad to read everyone’s memories of him.
I remember when Dennis came to Tampa. He had that blue Mercedes. We would all pile into it on a Friday night to go out dancing or a movie. Some nights we just drove with threats of a road trip. Dennis was the leader of our little group and always up for a good time. I will miss him always.
I have alot of memories of visiting with Denny and Betty and Lori and Kelly almost every month of the 30 months I was stationed there when I was in the Army .Once I visited him at his office in Heidelburg. I was stationed on a border site on the West/East German border on an Army Security Agency site and sometimes it could be a while before we could get to " civilization" to do things like get haircuts and such. I was in my MP sweatshirt and had hair touching my ears and my mustache and sideburns were a tad long. Dennys boss came in and asked if I was in the Army, I said Yes Sir, and he said where are you station son. Before I could answer Denny said " He could tell you Sir but he would have to kill you." His boss turned around and left with out saying a word.
Adding some pictures over the years. Not surprisingly, two of which were at Sakura's his favorite.
