Obituary for Marilynn D. Mellor

Marilynn D. Mellor (95) died peacefully at her home in Annapolis, Maryland on May 5, 2018. Survivors include: Jan (Freddy) Rupp, Barbara (John) McKeeta and Ed (Betsy) Mellor; five grandchildren: Ed Mellor III, Kate Berkes, Johanna Mellor, John McKeeta III and Kimberly Wynn as well as two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, E. Iden Mellor.

Born in New York City and raised on Long Island, NY. She was married in New York in May 1945. They travelled and lived in many places: Europe, Maryland, Florida, and Texas. Times we busy with three children. She was active in hre children's acitivities from PTA, girl scouts, cub scouts, swim teams, churhc, gootball, paper delivery, she was a crossing guard making sure elemantary children got to school safe. Mom's house was open to everyone. She was a compassionate, thoughtful and loving person. Always putting others ahead of herself. Out hearts are heavy and we will miss her greatly. She was our friend, our mentor and our cheerleader. SHe also ran a "tight ship" especially at the dinner table. Her smile made you smile even if you didn't feel like it and she knew how to laugh and enjoy life.

She was very fond of her Annapolis Aerobics swim group and their celebration of birthdays. In Texas, she was a member of the Dallas Newcomers Club and also participated in an aerobics group. Mom loved all sports, but baseball was her favorite. The Redskins and Nationals we her teams.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 12, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church located at 78 Churhc Road, Arnold, MD012. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to Anne Arundel County SPCA, 1815 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403, or a charity of your choice.
