Ryan Helfenbein is a licensed funeral director, certified pre-planning counselor and partner in his family’s businesses Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., FHN Insurance Co., Inc. and Lasting Tributes by Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Cremation and Funeral Care, P.A. As supervising mortician of Lasting Tributes, Ryan is dedicated to simplifying the funeral buying process while offering top quality service with affordable pricing for the Anne Arundel county residents. He believes that consumers should not have to pay high costs in order to receive the very best in funeral service today.
Ryan is a familiar speaker, presenting to numerous local organizations, senior communities and state associations on a variety of topics within the death care industry. In 2008 he began writing for Outlook By the Bay Magazine, which developed into a bimonthly column called “Ask the Undertaker”, touching on common questions of the death care industry.
Ryan graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. From there he completed his Mortuary Science degree from Catonsville Community College and later became certified as a Preplanning Counselor.
Ryan has been married since 2002 to his wife Sarah, a long time resident of Grasonville, MD. They have three children, Luke Thomas, Chase Ryan and Emma Lynn; and a black lab named Mollie.
Mary was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She moved to Maryland where she met and married her husband Peter in l979. They have 3 children and two beautiful grandsons - Vincent and Jackson. Mary completed her Associates Degree in General Studies with area of concentration in Psychology and Gerontology. She then continued her studies at the University of Maryland University College where she obtained her Bachelors of Sciences Degree. She continues to study in the areas of Behavioral Science, Psychology, and Mental Health. Mary has been contributing in various roles since joining Lasting Tributes in 2011 but most recently found a new calling as a Tribute Specialist and Bereavement Coordinator. This has now become a growing need for our families that may have the desire for a highly personalized service time of remembrance shared with family and friends.
Mary has been drawn to the work of being a Tribute Specialist by her realization that every life has meaning and every family deserves the right to celebrate their loved one's life. She believes that whether a family is secular, spirtual, religious, interfaith or simply choose to provide a time to share the story of one's life is important to honor a life lived. Mary will spend the necessary time working with a family to learn about one's life and then facilitate a meaningful, memorable, fitting Time of Shared Memories for all to be involved in. Familes now realize that they can be part of the process of celebrating their loved ones life and personalize the service to meet each of their individual needs.
Amanda is the newest addition to the Lasting Tributes family. She was born and raised in Stevensville, Maryland. Throughout her life her love of dance paved the way for her to be part of a championship winning competitive team in 2004 and to teach ballet for several years after. In 2009 she graduated from Towson University with a Bachelors of Science in exercise science. In 2012 she married her high school sweetheart, Kelly and together they welcomed their first bundle of joy, Aiden.
Emily Murphy is a Midwest native that comes to us as an Apprentice Funeral Director. She graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2011, where she studied Sociology and Gerontology. She was a member of the Women’s Ice Hockey team from 2007-2011. Following her undergraduate education she attended the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where she completed her Associates of Applied Science degree.
Rev. Benjamin Rainey is pastor of Christ Fellowship Church near Laurel, MD and an associate with Lasting Tributes. He is an ordained minister, and has been involved in local church ministry for more than 12 years in Anne Arundel County.
Benjamin believes that a highly personalized service shows dignity to the deceased, and promotes healing for surviving friends and family. He serves families from a variety of denominational backgrounds. Benjamin’s warm and relational style puts people at ease, and provides excellent spiritual care through some of life’s most difficult circumstances.
Bill Ciancaglini has been serving families within the funeral industry for over 38 years in the Annapolis and metro areas. He is a licensed mortitian/funeral director and cemeterian. Prior to joining the Lasting Tributes team, he worked for Beall Funeral Homes, Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Steward Enterprises at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery and most recently Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Bill is a long time member of the Maryland State Funeral Directors Association, Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy and BPOE Elks Lodge 622.
Bill is married with four children, Bill, Bob, Dawn and Beth; and four grandchildren.
Leslie Leadbeater and her family moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1983. She has been helping families in the financial industry for over 14 years in both the Eastern Shore area and Annapolis.
Leslie joined the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam team in August 2011. She serves as our Funeral Concierge and Planning Counselor. Leslie will walk you through the post service checklist found in your Funeral Organizer© and assist you in settling the affairs of your loved one. She is there to provide assistance with whatever concerns you may have, no matter how large or small. Leslie can also offer protection from financial hardships that often occur with the loss of a loved one through funeral trusts, life insurance, long-term care insurance, annuities and much more.
When she’s not helping our families, she spends her time with family and friends. Leslie volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, The Waterfowl Festival in Easton and is a member of Easton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Kerry Legg was raised in Queenstown, MD by her parents Tom and Penny Quimby. She is a 1999 graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School where she played soccer, ran track and wrote for the high school newspaper. After High School she attended Towson University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. In 2005 she married Josh Legg of Chester, MD and in 2007 the welcomed their daughter Hayden into the world.
Kerry joined the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam team in November of 2007. She was looking for an opportunity to be in Centreville, MD and be able to help people on a daily basis. In her position as Funeral Concierge she is a constant resource for our families assisting them with questions about their estate, grief support, banking, insurance and social security.
When she’s not assisting FHN families Kerry enjoys spending time Josh, Hayden and their miniature dachshund Rebel at their home in Henderson, MD. She also takes pleasure in assisting our local Hospice and Queen Anne’s County High Athletic Boosters with their fundraising events.
